Happy New Year (at least according to the "calendar")
DIY peacock gravel mosaic art

This is my world. Sometimes its about my job as a teacher, sometimes its about my artsy/craftsy outputs whether its sewing, crochet, photography, stained glass, or interest of the day, sometimes it's just about me and the world inside or outside my head. If you stopped by, be sure and say hi so I know you were here!
Or are numbers overwhelming you? I'm sure someone's done a study as to how many numbers we can spout off from the top of our heads! Phone numbers - I bet my 8th graders could relay 100; all their friends! Social security numbers (I know mine and my son's, that's it), address numbers, times, dates, birthdays (I rely on a computer program for those now, and I bet you do to!) Phew! At least we don't have to walk around like this poor guy with our number pierced into our ear :-)
Yesterday I went to the school barn (how many schools can say they have one of those! LOL) and took some pictures. One of my students shows lambs (among other things, I guess)
and there was an ag class out there looking all thrilled as 8th graders so often are. :-)
The hubs is home this weekend, hopefully to fix all the lawn equipment I have "broken". And to start the weedeater. I should never have let him talk me out of buying a battery operated weedeater. There may be money spent........
The workshop was good, but it was time to eat again. Our first choice was closed (who closes on a Tuesday for crying out loud). After laughing about this place advertising gyros, pannini, and gelatos we ended up eating here. It was good, but seriously, isn't this advertising a little ironic?
And of course, if there are flea markets and quilt shops we brake for them! A few minutes digging through a box of buttons is never wasted:
Saw my first turtle (tortise?) crossing the road this morning on the way to work. Saw another one on the way home.... there's a joke in there somewhere :-)
My neighbor's iris are blooming; ours are always weeks behind, because we're in the valley on a north slope I guess. Even though the jonquils have come and gone, not to mention the crocus and other early risers I've been thinking it's taking a hella long time for the oak trees on the property to bud and leaf out. This weekend's rain must have spurred them on - the great oak on our back porch showed these off today: (my fat hand is there to give an idea of size - grin)
